Studio

I welcome you into my home where I specialize in personalizing Pilates - offering a warm and intimate fully equipped studio.

One Pilates Studio is a refreshing alternative to other studios crammed with people. Instead, classes are limited to 3 students and as I work independently there are no distractions of other teachers or classes working in the same space.

I pride myself on a close relationship with you that will foster the most effective way to address your unique needs and goals.

A second, separate studio has been created dedicated for the formations and education of teachers. A professional space with the luxury of being calm and private.

The gentleness and simplicity of Pilates is astounding, yet it is so effective and intelligent. It will dramatically improve your strength, flexibility and posture.

My goal is to improve the quality of life of my clients by transforming their body from the inside out, and allowing them to learn what their body needs to keep yourself healthy.

Teachers:

  • Michael Fritzke & Ton Voogt
  • Wendy LeBlanc
  • Jillian Hessel

Lynn Grandjean

Lynn was born in Malaysia and grew up in Australia, where she had a very active outdoor life. She studied at the University of Western Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, and begun her career in the world of finance. Her jobs took her from Singapore to New York to London with vast travels in between.

In 2002, she moved to Geneva and started a family. After her second child, a friend recommended Pilates as that is what all the superstars do after giving birth! She was captivated from the first class, and was puzzled how some exercises looked so easy and yet were so difficult. After many years of practising Pilates, she began to be frustrated as her teachers could not explain to her certain questions she had about Pilates. She then decided to study Pilates to better understand it.

In 2007 she began to study Pilates with Pilates Institute Genève. Here she learnt the mechanics of Pilates, but there was a nagging feeling that there was more and that she was only scratching the surface. It was at this time that she encounted Iva Mazzoleni, and her feelings were confirmed - Pilates with its depth can go significantly further than just a series of exercises.

It was only then the real Pilates journey started. Lynn completed a 14 month mentorship under Iva which finally shone the light on the depth and ingenuity of Pilates. It was only during this mentorship that she connected her Body-Mind-Spirit. Lynn finally felt Pilates and she finally experienced the profoundness of the method. Not only did her Pilates change, but Pilates changed her way of being.

Thirsty for more, she continued with further workshops with Kathy Corey, Brett Howard, Blossom Crawford and Anthony Lett and was exposed to the Pilates elder and 1st Generation Master teacher - Lolita San Miguel. Eventually she was accepted into 'Lolita's Pilates Master Mentorship Program' and obtained the diploma of the 2nd generation instructor.

Lolita passed on to her the 3 pillars of Joseph Pilates teachings - Perservence, Practice and Patience. She is motivated to share her knowledge with clients and future teachers so they can grasp the depth and magic of Pilates.

Joseph Pilates

Joseph Pilates (1880-1967) was born in Monchengladbach, Germany. He was sickly as a child and became fascinated by Eastern and Western exercise and examined discarded anatomy books, to learn to strengthen his own body.

After WWI, he was interned in a camp and he began developing his system of original exercises and designed equipment, taking the springs from beds and using them as weights and pulleys for exercise apparatus.

Upon traveling to New York he met a nurse - Clara, that later became his wife. There they opened a gym in the same building as several dance studios. It was this proximity that made “Contrology” such an integral part of many dancers’ training and rehabilitation work.

Joseph Pilates’ work has been passed on through the teaching of a group of his students known as the “First Generation Pilates Masters” of which only two were certified by Joseph Pilates - Kathy Grant and Lolita San Miguel.

Lolita's Legacy

"I call my Teacher Training Program Lolita’s Legacy because I am very conscious of the marvelous legacy I received from Joseph Pilates as well as from other wonderful teachers, and I have designed a Teacher Training Program that embodies this legacy and my more than 57 years of professional experience in Pilates and more than 74 years of involvement in the movement of the human body".

The Course is fully comprehensive and covers historical and contemporary exercises on Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table, Chair, Barrels and Auxiliary equipment in addition to history, philosophy and teaching protocols. The course is further enhanced by an Anatomy Manual by Dr. Aaron Spector, written specifically for Lolita’s Legacy.

The goal of Lolita’s Legacy's training is to produce outstanding Pilates teachers that are competent, passionate and respectful of the Method and the legacy they have received.

Instead of choosing quantity over quality, Lolita has decided that only people she has personally trained in her two-year, 160-hour Pilates Master Mentor Program and passed the Legacy Educator examinations can teach Lolita's Legacy. This type of training is unique in the Pilates industry. Therefore Legacy students striving for excellence are assured of training that is of the highest quality. "Discipline, perseverance, love and respect for the method and its origin are values that I and my Legacy Educators wish to pass on."
